So, in case you didn’t know, Chicago, IL is literally my favorite place to date. I can’t count how many times I’ve been and yet, every time I go, I always seem to discover something new about this “Windy City”.
However, this past trip to Chi was my first time experiencing her in the Fall. If you’ve ever been or have even heard about this incredible city, you know that Fall and Winter there are like none other. I learned that this past weekend.
First, let me just say that I am the champion of packing everything but the literal necessities when it comes to climate changes. I barely prepare for a Cincinnati Fall day, let alone a Chicago one. Fortunately, it truly does take a village to raise a Jazmine. Lol.
And though incredibly cold, there was such a beauty that I had never seen before from my favorite city. I can’t really put my finger on it. I can’t tell if it’s a new found perspective that God has granted me in this season or if I’m simply just taking in every moment as best as I can.
Either way, the 2.5 days spent provided clarity, a sense of mental rest, peace, and a freedom that only comes from the beauty of travel. Not to mention, I had some pretty incredible travel and exploring buddies too!
All in all, I’m thankful to experience such a great place during my favorite time of year. I look forward to many more fun adventures to come. Chi, as always, you didn’t disappoint sis!
What are your favorite places to travel and why?
Thanks for hanging out with me. I love
